THIS SEASON: Daniel Nguyen enters his senior season at USC having been a key member of the Trojans' 2009, 2010 and 2011 NCAA Championships.

2010-11 SEASON: Nguyen clinched the NCAA Team Championship for the Trojans for the second straight year, winning a three-setter at the No. 3 singles position to net USC its third consecutive crown... Finished the year ranked No. 40 in the nation in ITA singles... Earned All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention and was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team... Also selected as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar... Reached the NCAA Singles Round of 32... Went 29-13 overall in singles, going 17-8 in dual matches playing primarily at the No. 3 position (13-4) and also at No. 2 (3-3) and No. 1 (1-1)... In doubles, went 21-11 overall and 17-7 in dual matches... Was 9-7 overall with Emilio Gomez, going 9-6 in dual matches at the No. 1 (0-3), No. 2 (5-2) and No. 3 (4-1) positions... Also went 9-2 with Ray Sarmiento, including a 9-1 mark in dual matches (8-1 at No. 3 and 1-0 at No. 2)... Was 2-1 with Peter Lucassen and 1-1 with Steve Johnson...Entered the spring ranked No. 18 in the nation in ITA singles and No. 29 in doubles with Steve Johnson... In the fall, Nguyen was ranked No. 42 in the nation in singles and No. 9 in doubles with Johnson... Went 7-2 in fall singles, reaching the final of the ITA Southwest Regional and falling to Sebastian Fanselow of Pepperdine... Also competed at the ITA/D'Novo All-American and the Land Rover Napa Valley... Went 1-1 in fall doubles with Johnson and 0-1 with Ray Sarmiento.

2009-10 SEASON: Nguyen finished his sophomore season ranked No. 63 in the nation in singles, and was No. 55 in doubles with JT Sundling and No. 72 with Jason McNaughton... Named to All-Pac-10 Second Team... Was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, notching the match-clinching singles win in the NCAA Championship match and also tallying four other singles wins during the NCAA Tournament... Named to NCAA All-Tournament Team for No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles with Sundling... Named to the USTA Summer Collegiate Team... Went 38-6 overall in singles and was an impressive 21-1 in dual match singles... In doubles, was 30-11 overall and 21-6 in dual match play... Went 15-4 overall with Sundling, playing at the No. 1 (1-0) and No. 2 (10-1) positions in dual matches, and was 6-5 with McNaughton, going 0-1 at No. 1 and 3-2 at No. 2... Also was 2-1 overall with Jaak Poldma and 1-0 with Peter Lucassen... Named to 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team... Twice selected Pac-10 Player of the Week... Entered the spring ranked No. 78 in the nation in singles... During the fall, was ranked No. 40 in the ITA preseason doubles rankings with JT Sundling... Went 12-3 in fall singles, competing in ITA All-American qualifying, winning the ITA Southwest Regionals Consolation title and falling in the Southern California Intercollegiates final... In fall doubles, went 2-1 with Poldma and 3-2 with Sundling in competition at the ITA Southwest Regional... Also competed with Sundling at the 2009 U.S. Open main draw after the pair earned a wildcard into the Open by winning the USTA Boys' 18s National Hard Court Championships in the summer.

2008-09 SEASON: Nguyen finished his freshman season ranked No. 34 in doubles with Abdullah Magdas... Was second on the team in singles wins with a 33-9 overall record, including a 17-4 mark in dual match play... Played at the No. 4 (2-0), No. 5 (5-3) and No. 6 (10-1) positions... Won the Pac-10 Invitational singles championship... Finished the year on an eight-match singles win streak, including a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 6 position in the NCAA Team Championship vs. Ohio State... Selected to NCAA All-Tournament Team for No. 6 singles... In doubles, went 30-12 overall and 20-8 in dual match play... Was 23-10 overall with Magdas, going 19-8 in dual matches with a 2-1 mark at No. 1, 15-6 at No. 2 and 1-1 at No. 3... Reached the semifinals of the Pac-10 Championships with Magdas... Also went 1-0 with Jason McNaughton at No. 3 doubles... During the fall, went 9-3 in singles and 6-2 in doubles... Went 3-2 in singles at the UVA Invitational... Won eight straight singles matches, going undefeated at the UC Irvine Pre-Regional and reaching the ITA Regionals Round of 64... Won five straight doubles matches... Went 4-1 with Andrew Kells and reached the ITA Regionals Round of 16.

HIGH SCHOOL: Nguyen is a 2008 graduate of Santa Barbara High... Was named the 2008 Santa Barbara News Press Tennis Player of the Year... Won the Boys 16s Doubles National Championships in Kalamazoo.

PERSONAL: Daniel Nguyen was born on Oct. 16, 1990 in Long Beach, Calif... Son of Tien and Cindy... Has two brothers, Khai and Thi-thien... Lists Roger Federer as his biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to go skydiving... Would like to one day travel to Paris and London... Majoring in communications... Would like to compete professionally or pursue a career in business after graduation.
