THIS SEASON: Peter Lusassen enters his second season at USC ranked No. 84 in the nation in ITA singles... In the fall, Lucassen was ranked No. 90 in the nation in singles and No. 54 in doubles with JT Sundling... Went 6-4 in fall singles, competing in the ITA/D'Novo All-American Qualifying and Main Draw and the Southern California Intercollegiates... In fall doubles, went 1-1 with Ray Sarmiento and 1-1 with Jaak Poldma.
2009-10 SEASON: Lucassen joined the Trojans in spring 2010 as a junior... Finished the year ranked No. 123 in the nation in singles... Went 18-8 overall in singles, including a 16-7 mark in dual match play... Played at the No. 3 (2-0), No. 3 (7-3), No. 5 (1-4) and No. 6 (4-0) position... In doubles, went 15-6 overall and 15-5 in dual match play... Went 14-6 with Jaak Poldma and 1-0 with Daniel Nguyen... Won all three singles matches that were completed during USC's NCAA Championship run... Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team for No. 6 singles.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lucassen graduated high school in 2007 from Helen Parkhurst in Almere, the Netherlands before attending Universiteit van Tilburg... Was a two-time national champion at the under-18 level... Reached the final of the 2008 Futures 15,000 Gabon... Also reached the third round at junior Wimbledon in 2006... Played with the Dutch Junior National team as an under-12, -14, -16 and -18... Held highest ATP ranking at No. 541 in November 2009... Ranked No. 33 in ITF as an under-18.
PERSONAL: Peter Lucassen was born Sept. 3, 1988 in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands... Father is Robert Lucassen... Has two siblings, Saskia and Pien... Lists 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek as his biggest sports hero... Favorite meal is steak and French fries... Has always wanted to travel to Australia... Majoring in business.
