USC swimmers combined to make 10 finals and 17 semifinal appearances at the 2012 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., that ended Monday (July 2).

Former Trojan Rebecca Soni earned spots on the U.S. Olympic team in the 100m and 200m breast, finishing second in the former and first in the latter. Despite her surprise second in the shorter distance, Soni will be a favorite for gold in not only the 200m breast but in the 100m as well. She will also likely swim on the 400m medley relay.

The other Trojan on the U.S. team is rising senior Haley Anderson, who earned her spot in the open water 10K marathon. At the indoor Olympic Trials, Anderson swam in two finals, finishing third in the 800m free and eighth in the 400m IM.

Other Trojans who competed in finals were junior-to-be Meghan Hawthorne (400m IM, sixth), recently graduated Tanya Krisman (200m fly, sixth), incoming Trojans Dakota Hodgson (200m fly, sixth), Andrea Kropp (200m breast, third), Jasmine Tosky (200m IM, seventh) and former Trojan Amanda Weir (100m free, fifth).

Additional semifinal appearances included rising senior Alex Lendrum in the 200m back (ninth), Hawthorne in the 200m IM (11th), Kropp in 100m breast (11th) and 200m IM (10th), Tosky in the 100m fly (11th) and 200m free (11th), incoming freshman Maclin Davis in the 100m fly (13th) and Weir in the 50m free (10th).

Other top 30 finishes included Anderson in the 400m free (11th), rising junior Chase Bloch in the 200m back (24th), Hawthorne in the 200m breast (30th), Kropp in the 400m IM (13th), Lendrum in the 100m back (26th), incoming freshman Kendyl Stewart in the 100m fly (25th) and the 200m back (29th tie), Tosky in the 200m fly (21st), sophomore-to-be Cary Wright in the 200m fly (27th) and the 1500m free (30th), incoming freshman Ted Singley in the 200m fly (24th), 400m free (30th) and 1500m free (16th) and former Trojan Lyndsay DePaul in the 100m fly (19th) and 200m fly (26th).

There are 12 Trojans (current, incoming and former) scheduled to compete for a combined 10 countries at the 2012 Olympics in London (list below). The swim portion of the Olympic schedule runs from July 28 to Aug. 4 with the women's open water 10K marathon on Aug. 9 and the men's on Aug. 10.
