USC senior All-American swimmer Alex Lendrum and senior men's water polo player Matthew Burton and junior women's water polo player Flora Bolonyai - both national champions in 2012-13 -- were named to CoSIDA's Capital One Academic All-District 8 at-large team on Friday (May 17).

Lendrum earned his second consecutive All-District 8 honor. He went on to earn CoSIDA All-American second team honors last year. Lendrum, Burton and Bolonyai advance to the final round of voting (by a CoSIDA committee) to determine All-American distinction among all eight of the district's 10 winners.

Lendrum, graduating today at USC, boasts a 3.76 GPA in bio-chemistry while Burton has a 3.69 as he pursues as master's degree in communication management. Bolonyai has a 3.39 GPA in economics and mathematics.

Bolonyai, an All-American goalie and 2012 Olympian, is less than a week removed from leading USC's women's water polo team to the program's fourth NCAA title, which came in a 10-9 overtime thriller over Stanford on Sunday. Named the NCAA Tournament MVP last week after making a career-high 17 saves in the 2013 title match, Bolonyai earned MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors in 2012.

Also an All-American, Burton was a captain and a key contributor at 2-meters during USC's fifth consecutive national championship season in 2012, tying for fifth on the team with 29 goals during Troy's 29-0 season. He was a three-time All-Academic MPSF Scholar-Athlete and - due to his medical redshirt season in 2011 - has been part of all five of USC's national championship teams.

Lendrum, a two-time USC swimming captain, was a 2012 and 2013 All-American and recently was awarded the prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship. The 2013 Pac-12 Swimming Scholar Athlete of the Year and a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic first team selection, Lendrum helped lead USC to fourth place at the 2013 NCAA Championships, the Trojans' best finish since 2001.
