THIS SEASON: A 2007 senior, Joon Youm is among USC's top 10 fastest ever in the 200y breast and he continues to improve in the 100y breast. A regular dual-meet performer, Youm made his Pac-10 Championship final debut in 2006 and hopes to make his NCAA debut in 2007.

2006: Youm reached a Pac-10 Championship final for the first time as a 2006 junior, finishing eighth in the 200y breast (2:00.39). He was also 10th in the 100y breast (55.51), his time just off USC's all-time top 10 ... His season bests of 55.51 in the 100y breast and 1:58.59 in the 200y breast were also good enough for career best times.

2005: Youm finished a personal best 13th in the 100y breast (56.14) at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships as a sophomore and was also 17th in the 200y breast (1:59.71). His 100y breast time was second fastest for the Trojans on the season ... At the 2005 U.S. Summer Nationals, Youm was 29th in the 100m breast (1:05.44) and 40th in the 200m breast (2:24.22).

2004: Youm posted a pair of consolation finals appearances at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships as a freshman, taking 15th in the 200y breast (2:02.28) and 16th in the 100y breast (56.82). He was also 31st in the 200y IM (1:54.13).

HIGH SCHOOL: Youm was a three-time All-American and Washington state Swimmer of the Year (2001-03) while at Decatur High in Federal Way, Wash., and was part of the 2003 4A state championship team ... He was the state champion in the 100y breast and the 200y IM in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

PERSONAL: Youm was born Oct. 31, 1984, in South Korea ... He is an accounting major.
