THIS SEASON: Tyler Wilson, a 2007 junior, is one of USC's top sprint freestylers who looks to take a more prominent role in his third year on the squad.

2006: Wilson competed in two individual events at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships as a sophomore, finishing 16th in the 50y free (20.42) and 24th in the 100y free (47.28) ... He raced in the 50m free at the 2006 U.S. Spring Nationals, finishing 22nd.

2005: Wilson competed in three events at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, taking 19th in the 100y free (45.70), 21st in the 50y free (20.60) and 29th in the 200y free (1:41.24). He also saw action on relays. He played water polo for the Trojans in the fall of 2004 as a freshman. He scored four goals as a driver earlier this year.

HIGH SCHOOL: He earned All-America first team honors and was named CIF Division IV Player of the Year in his senior season at Santa Barbara (Calif.) High ... Earned All-CIF first team honors as a junior and All-CIF third team honors as a sophomore ... Won the 100y free at the Division I CIF Championship in his senior and junior seasons.

PERSONAL: Born on March 12, 1986 ... He is majoring in public policy, management and planning.
