THIS SEASON: Patrick White, a 2011 junior, is a talented sprint and middle distance freestyler who is coming off an All-American sophomore year as he seeks his third straight trip to the NCAAs. An ever-improving freestyler over a variety of distances as well as in the 100y fly, he is a key dual meet and postseason performer, individually and on relays. He is among USC's all-time top performers in the 100y and 200y free and the 100y fly.
2010: White earned All-American honors as a sophomore after helping USC to a sixth-place finish in the 800y free relay at the NCAA Championships. He was a consolation finalist in the 200y free, taking 11th (1:35.02) and was 36th in the 500y free (4:23.23) and 37th in the 100y free (44.00). He also swam on USC's 200y and 400y free relays ... White turned in a superb performance at the 2010 Pac-10 Championships, taking second in the 500y free (4:18.63), third in the 200y free (1:34.52) and seventh in the 100y free (44.06). He also swam second on USC's Pac-10 title-winning 800y free relay.
2009: White raced on three freestyle relays and in the 500y free as a freshman at the 2009 NCAA Championships. He was 46th in the 500y free (4:27.23). He swam in the 500y free and the 800y free relay at the Pac-10 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: White, who prepped at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif., was named to the Orange County Register's All-County swim team in the 100y, 200y, and 500y free ... He was a five-time CIF Southern Section Championships runner-up in 2006 and 2007 in the 50y, 100y and 200y free. He also reached the final of the 500y free in 2008 ... He competed at the 2007 U.S. Junior National Championships, reaching the final of the 200m free and the consolation final of the 100m free. He also competed in the 50m free and 100m fly.
PERSONAL: He was born on Aug. 1, 1989 and is a business administration major. Comes from a strong USC family.
