THIS SEASON: A talented freestyler, 2014 sophomore Ted Singley looks to build on his top 8 conference finish in the mile with a bigger profile across the distance events while continuing to make an impact in dual meets and the post-season.
2013: Singley's debut postseason appearance was highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 1650y free (15:10.62, PR) at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships. He was also 13th in the 500y free (4:22.15, PR) and 19th in the 200y fly (1:48.39) ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, he was fifth in the 1650y free (15:12.41), third in the `B' final of the 500y free (4:22.25) and fifth in the `B' final of the 200y fly (1:47.34).
HIGH SCHOOL: Singley, who preps at Carroll Senior High in Southlake, Texas, is a 2011-12 National Junior Teamer who was 19th in the 1500m free at the 2011 U.S. Nationals. He was second in the 500y free at the 2011 Texas UIL State Swimming Championships. A Scholastic All-American, he is also a rising open water swimmer ... He put forth a strong showing at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 16th in the 1500m free (15:33.23), 24th in the 200m fly and 30th in the 400m free (3:56.64).
