THIS SEASON: Sean Mulroy, a 2013 junior, is a talented IM'er and freestyler who has improved each year and appears ready to not only be an effective dual-meet performer but a solid post-season scorer as well.
2012: Mulroy was USC's top finisher in the 400y IM at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships as a sophomore, taking 11th (3:53.67). He was 16th in the 200y IM (1:48.66). His prelim efforts of 1:47.83 (200y IM) and 3:52.33 (400y IM) were both PRs. His exhibition leadoff swim in the 800y free relay also was a PR (1:38.27). Mulroy was also 26th in the 100y free (45.10) ... At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, Mulroy was 73rd in the 200m IM (2:06.22) ... He was named to the 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team.
2011: Mulroy raced in a variety of events for the Trojans as a 2011 freshman, seeing some dual meet duty, and swam in a handful of exhibition heats at the Pac-10 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mulroy prepped at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Ill., where he won the 200y IM as a senior at the 2010 Illinois Senior Championships ... He was fourth in the 500y free and fifth in the 200y free at the 2008 Illinois state championships as a sophomore. He was injured in 2009.
