THIS SEASON: Senior Ridge Altman is one of Troy’s top breaststrokers and 200y IMers, looking to build off his 2015 NCAA debut and Pac-12 final appearance.
2015: Altman, as a junior, competed at the NCAA Championships for the first time in 2015, taking 27th in the 200y breast (1:54.93) with a PR, 39th in the 100y breast (53.83) and 53rd in the 200y IM (1:52.95) … Altman reached his first conference final at the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, finishing fifth in the 200y breast (1:55.04). He was also 14th in the 100y breast (53.74) and 19th in the 200y IM (1:48.23). His 200y IM time and his 53.59 in 100y breast prelims were both PRs.
2014: Altman competed in three events at the 2014 Pac-12s as a sophomore, finishing 12th in the 200y breast (1:57.31), 16th in the 100y breast (54.87) and 24th in the 200y IM (1:49.46). His 54.54 in the 100y breast prelims was a personal best.
2013: Altman provided depth in the breast and medley events as a 2013 freshman, posting an NCAA `B' cut in the 200y breast (1:58.95) at the U.S. Winter Nationals with a `B' finalist finish. He competed in three exhibition heats at the Pac-12 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Altman, who was a co-captain at Seacrest Country Day in Naples, Fla., finished second in the 100y fly in the 2010 Division IA state championships and third in the 100y breast as a senior and earned 2010 Naples News Boys Swimmer of the Year honors. Originally from Maui, Altman also won FHSAA 1A Region 3 titles in the 100y fly and 100y breast.
