THIS SEASON: Morten Klarskov emerged as one of the NCAA's top breaststrokers as a 2013 freshman and looks to build upon his NCAA point-scoring debut as a 2014 sophomore. He will also be counted on USC's medley relays and is solid in the IM.
2013: Klarskov scored twice at the 2013 NCAA Championships as a freshman, finishing 11th in the 100y breast (53.00) and 12th in the 200y breast (1:56.09). His 1:54.64 prelim effort in the 200y breast was a USC school record while his effort in the 100y breast made him the fourth fastest Trojan in that race. He was also 33rd in the 200y IM (1:45.80) ... At the 2013 Pac-12 Championships, Klarskov reached the final of the 200y breast, taking fifth in 1:55.13. He also won the `B' final of the 100y breast in 53.92 and helped USC's 200y medley relay to fourth ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, he was 10th in the 200y breast (1:57.42).
HIGH SCHOOL: Klarskov, who attended Falkonergaarden's Gymnasium & Hf in Frederiksberg, Denmark, owns three Danish national crowns, several Danish Junior National titles, individually and on relays, and has broken more than 30 Danish junior records as well. At the 2011 European Short Course Championships, he reached the semifinals of the 50m breast and competed in the 100m and 200m breast and the 400m IM. He was second in the 200m IM at the 2011 Danish Nationals.
