THIS SEASON: Michael Godbe, a 2014 senior, is a strong middle distance freestyler for the Trojans and looks to return as a conference finalist. One of USC's top student-athletes, he is also is improving in the 500y free and swims the 200y fly for the Trojans.
2013: Godbe competed in three events at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships, taking 16th in the 200y free (1:37.43), 22nd in the 200y fly (1:50.01) and 27th in the 500y free (4:30.74). He also posted a PR in the 100y free (44.61) by leading off a USC exhibition race in the 400y free relay ... Godbe repeated as a 2013 College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team honorable mention pick and as a 2013 Pac-12 All-Academic first team selection.
2012: Godbe was a 2012 Pac-12 Championships finalist in the 200y free as a sophomore, finishing eighth in 1:37.06. His 1:36.17 in prelims was a PR. He was also 32nd in the 500y free ... Godbe earned 2012 College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team honorable mention honors and was named to the 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic first team with a 3.77 GPA in political science.
2011: Godbe was a two-time consolation finalist at the 2011 Pac-10 Championships as a freshman, taking 15th in the 200y free (1:37.94) and 16th in the 500y free (4:29.83). He was also 35th in the 100y free (45.92). His 200y free time was an NCAA `B' cut and PR while his PR in the 500y free in the Pac-10 prelims was just off a `B' cut.
HIGH SCHOOL: Godbe prepped at Stevens High in Rapid City, S.D., where he won the 500y free (4:29.9) at the 2010 Short Course Sectionals ... He was a Scholastic All-American who graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors and was an AP Scholar with honor and a National Merit Scholar.

PERSONAL: He was born Dec. 17, 1991 and is a political science and economics major. He plans to pursue a career in law.
