THIS SEASON: Michael Domagala, a 2017 senior co-captain, is a versatile swimmer strong in the fly as well as the 200y free and the 200 IM. He is coming off of back-to-back NCAA Championships appearances.
2016: Domagala, as a 2016 junior, competed in the 800y free relay at the NCAA Championships, swimming the second leg as USC finished ninth … At the 2016 Pac-12 Championships, he was a two-time finalist, taking fifth in the 200y fly (1:35.06) and eighth in the 200y IM (1:44.75), posting PRs in both swims. He was also 13th in the 200y fly (1:47.31) and swam the second leg of Troy’s second-place 800y free relay … Domagala, for the second year in a row, earned 2016 CSCAA Scholar All-America and Pac-12 All-Academic first team honors.
2015: Domagala, as a 2015 sophomore, earned his first All-American honor as the third leg on USC's NCAA-title-winning 800y free relay. He scored individually as well, finishing 13th in the 200y fly (1:43.11 after a 1:42.77 in prelims). He was also 21st in the 100y fly (46.48) and 45th in the 200y IM (1:46.21) ... At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, he blazed to third in the 200y fly in 1:43.74 after a PR 1:42.75 in prelims and was also fifth in the 100y fly (46.40) after a 46.34 in prelims. He also helped USC win the Pac-12 title in the 800y free relay, swimming third, and swam to 12th in the 200y IM (1:45.91) ... Domagala represented Poland at the 2015 World Championships in the 800m free relay final, leading it to an eighth-place finish with a 1:46.90 split out of the third leg ... Domagala earned 2015 CSCAA Scholar All-America and Pac-12 All-Academic first team honors.
2014: Domagala, as a 2014 freshman, finished 13th in the 100y fly (47.17) and 18th in the 200y fly (1:48.44) at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships ... His 46.65 in the 100y fly at the Texas Invitational made him the fifth fastest Trojan ever in the event.
HIGH SCHOOL: Domagala, from Regis Jesuit High in New York City, was a `C' finalist in the 100m and 200m free, 100 fly and 200m IM at the 2013 U.S. Summer Nationals ...He won 2013 U.S. Junior national titles in the 200m fly and the 200m free and was third in the 100m fly ... He won the 200m free at the same meet in 2012 when he clocked the country's fastest time in the race that year by a 16-year-old. He was also third in the 200m IM at the meet ... He was the former NAG (15-16) record holder in the event as was the former NAG (13-14) holder in the 100y fly.
