    Morozov Blasts Through First Morning Of NCAA Prelims

    Junior leads Trojans to two relay records and posts top 50y free time of prelims.

    THIS SEASON: A strong freestyler and backstroker, 2013 sophomore Luca Spinazzola looks to make big contributions in both specialties in both dual meets and the postseason.

    2012: Spinazzola competed in the 200y IM and the 100y and 200y back in exhibition races at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships after a season of providing solid dual meet depth for the Trojans ... He qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, taking 70th in the 100m back.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Spinazzola won six Rhode Island state titles while at Narragansett (R.I.) High, including claiming the 500y free (4:35.56) as a senior in state-record fashion and bettering a 14-year old pool record while winning the 100y back (49.74). He won the 50y and 100y free in 2010 and the 500y free and 100y back in 2009 ... At the 2011 New England Swimming 13-19 Age Group Championships, he won the 50m and 100m free and the 100m back ... He was a national and junior national qualifier.
