    THIS SEASON: Nick Johnson, a 2012 junior co-captain, is a strong distance freestyler for the Trojans who is looking for his first conference top 8 and hopes to provide more scoring punch in dual meets and the postseason.

    2012: For the second year in a row, Johnson was among USC's top distance swimmers as a 2012 sophomore. At the Pac-12 Championships, he took ninth in the 1650y free (15:19.11) for the second straight season while finishing 15th in the 500y free (4:25.63) and 23rd in the 200y free (1:40.01) ... He was named to the 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team.

    2011: Johnson was among USC's top distance swimmers as a 2011 freshman, racing in three events at the 2011 Pac-10 Championships. He was ninth in the 1650y free (15:26.28), 13th in the 500y free (4:26.54) and 18th in the 400y IM (4:00.92). His Pac-10 time in the mile was an NCAA `B' cut and a PR.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Johnson prepped at Jesuit High in Sacramento, Calif., where he was a member of the 2010 U.S. World Youth Team. In 2009, he posted the sixth-fastest time in the 1500m at the U.S. Open Championships and the fifth-fastest time in the 400m free.
