    Strong Second Night Keeps USC Fourth At NCAAs

    Colupaev, Quintero go 1-2 in 200y Free; Morozov 5th in 100y breast, relays impressive.

    THIS SEASON: Jack Wagner, a talented 2013 junior who earned All-American honors on relays each of his first two years, is one of USC's top returning sprint and middle distance freestylers and is strong in the 200y IM among other events. He is tied for eighth on USC's all-time 50-yard freestyle list.

    2012: Wagner earned All-American honors as a 2012 sophomore on USC's sixth-place 200y free relay. Individually, he was 24th in the 200y free (1:36.23), 35th in the 200y IM (1:47.17) and 37th in the 100y free (44.01) ... At the 2012 Pac-12 Championships, he was 15th in the 200y free (1:38.73), 17th in the 100y free (44.29) and 20th in the 200y IM (1:49.25) ... Wagner took on a large workload at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, highlighted by a tie for 43rd in the 100m free (50.65). He was also 55th in the 200m free, 66th in the 200m IM, tied for 72nd in the 100m back, tied for 75th in the 50m free and 105th in the 200m back ... He was named to the 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team.

    2011: Wagner earned All-American honors as a 2011 freshman on USC's third-place 800y free relay, swimming the second leg. Individually, he was 28th in the 200y free (1:36.29) and 42nd in the 200y IM (1:47.15), both times PRs ... At the 2011 Pac-10s, Wagner was a two-time consolation finalist, taking 12th in the 200y free (1:37.33) and 14th in the 200y back (1:47.29). He was also 19th in the 200y IM (1:49.04) and was part of USC's second-place 800y free relay ... At the 2011 U.S. Nationals, he was eighth in the `C' final of the 200m free (1:51.69), 41st in the 100m free (50.71) and 68th in the 200m IM.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Wagner prepped at Holy Trinity Diocesan in Hicksville, N.Y., where he was a six-time New York state champion and was unbeaten throughout his prep career ... Was named New York State High School's Swimming State Championships Most Outstanding Swimmer in 2009 and 2010 ... Was an eight-time prep All-American and a three-time Scholastic All-American ... Holds New York State Federation records in the 100y free and 200y IM ... He swam for the U.S. National Junior Team in Stockholm and Berlin as a member of the 2009 World Cup junior team. Wagner qualified for the U.S. National Youth team in the 100 free, 200 free, 400 free, 100 and 200 back and the 200 IM.
