THIS SEASON: Sophomore Michael Halaska is a talented medley and breaststroke swimmer who continues to provide depth for the Trojans and vie for dual-meet spots in both events.
2009: Halaska competed in the medley and breast events for the Trojans as a 2009 freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Halaska, a prep All-American at Tehachapi (Calif.) High, won 2008 CIF Central Coast titles in the 200y IM and the 100y breast, the latter for the second year in a row ... He was named the Tehachapi News Kern County Swimmer of the Year for the second year in a row and was All-Area first team for the third year in a row ... Graduated fifth in his senior class and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school.
CLUB: Bakersfield Swim Club.
PERSONAL: He was born on Nov. 19, 1989 ... His father Steve swam at UCLA.
