THIS SEASON: Jeff Daniels, a 2010 sophomore, is USC's top returning sprinter who showed great promise as a freshman last year. He looks to build on his role as a key dual-meet scorer and become a prominent scorer at Pac-10s and beyond.
2009: As a 2009 freshman Daniels was USC's top sprinter, finishing the season with the second best 50y free (19.89) and the top time in the 100y free (43.81). Daniels, who is the seventh fastest all-time Trojan in the 50y free, also led off Troy's top 200y and 400y free relays ... At the 2009 Pac-10 Championships, Daniels was 14th in both the 50y (19.84) and 100y free (43.81) and helped the 200y free relay set a school record (1:18.11).
HIGH SCHOOL: Daniels, who prepped at Clovis (Calif.) West High, competed in two events at the 2008 Olympic Trials, tying for 59th in the 50m free (23.26) and finishing 79th in the 100m free (51.27) posting personal bests in both races ... The 2008 Fresno Bee Swimmer of the Year and a four-year prep All-American, Daniels was a 12-time CIF Central Section champion, including titles as a senior in the 50y and 100y free. He won the Central Section 50y free each year in school and won the 100y free also as a junior ... He also won 15 Tri-River Athletic Conference titles ... He also played four years of water polo.

PERSONAL: He was born on Feb. 6, 1990 ... His older brother, Josh, is a redshirt sophomore at Cal.
