THIS SEASON: One of the top butterflyers in the country, 2013 redshirt sophomore Dakota Hodgson will provide a major boost in the fly for the Trojans and will compete for a spot on the medley relay.

2012: Hodgson trained full time leading up the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials and was a finalist in the meet in the 200m fly, taking sixth (1:58.07). He also raced in the 200m IM and the 100m fly and qualified in the 400m IM and 200m and 400m free.

AUBURN: Hodgson saw limited action as a 2010-11 freshman at Auburn, competing only in the fall semester.

HIGH SCHOOL: While in high school (he was home-schooled), Hodgson was a two-time junior national champion in the 200y fly and a 2008-09 U.S. Junior National Team member. A prep All-American who was a 2010 state champion in the 100y fly, he qualified for the 2008 United States Olympic Trials in the 200m fly.

CLUB: Nashville Aquatic Club.

PERSONAL: He was born on Aug. 23, 1991 ... He is majoring in human biology ... His father Charles swam at Dartmouth while his mother, Amy, swam at Virginia.
