USC Opens Season With Win Over CSU Bakersfield

THIS SEASON: Blake Cushing, a 2012 junior, bolsters the Trojans' depth in the sprint free and breaststroke.
2011: Cushing again provided depth in the sprint free and breast for the Trojans as a 2011 sophomore, racing in the 50y and 100y free and 100y breast (in exhibitions) at the Pac-10 Championships. His personal-best 55.87 in the 100y breast was close to an NCAA `B' cut.
2010: Cushing competed in the freestyle and breaststroke as a freshman for the Trojans.
HIGH SCHOOL: Cushing attended Saint Mary's College HS in Berkeley, Calif., where he was a three-time prep All-American ... He was a three-time North Coast Section finalist in the 50y free, a two-time finalist in the 100y free and a finalist in the 100y breast ... He was a National Merit Scholar.
CLUB/COACH: Terrapins Swim Team/Paul Stafford.
PERSONAL: He was born on April 1, 1991 ... A social sciences major, his brother Alex swims for California.
