THIS SEASON: A talented distance freestyler and butterflyer, 2010 sophomore Julian Bonse is USC's top returning miler who is looking to take the next step and become an NCAA contributor for the Trojans.
2009: As a 2009 freshman, Bonse finished ninth in the 1650y free (15:25.07) at the 2009 Pac-10 Championships and was also 16th in the 500y free (4:26.81) and 31st in the 200y free (1:40.06).
HIGH SCHOOL: Bonse, who prepped at Huntington Beach (Calif.) High, competed at the 2007 U.S. Junior National Championships in the 200m, 400m free and 800m free and the 200m fly ... His team's MVP his final three years in school, Bonse was All-Seaview and All-CIF as a junior and senior.
CLUB: Irvine Novaquatics, Golden West Swim Club.
PERSONAL: He was born on April 5, 1990 ... Graduated with "Scholar with Distinction" honors in high school ... He was born in Boblingen, Germany.
