THIS SEASON: A talented breaststroker and an improving sprint freestyler, 2013 sophomore Andrew Malone looks to build on a pair of top 10 Pac-12 finishes last year while also bolstering USC's medley relays. 2012: Malone finished 10th in both the 100y (55.29) and the 200y breast (2:00.11) as a freshman at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships. He was also 39th in the 50y free. His 1:59.18 in the 200y breast led all USC swimmers in 2012 ... At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, Malone was 94th in the 100m breast.
HIGH SCHOOL: Malone prepped at University School in Kirtland, Ohio, where he was a two-time 100y breast state champion (Division II) as a junior and senior and also won the 50y free as a senior and was twice the state's and his school's MVP ... Malone, who also led his school to three state titles in both the 200y free and medley relays, was the 2010 Cleveland Plain Dealer Swimmer of the Year and named to the 2011 Cleveland Plain Dealer Boys Swimming All-Star team.
