    No. 5 USC Going To NCAAs As Top Seed In Michigan Regional

    The No. 5 USC men's golf team will continue its quest for its first NCAA team title as the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Michigan Regional -- one of six 13 or 14-team NCAA regions -- the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee announced Monday (May 7).

    The Trojans, who have reached the NCAA final for the past five years and are coming off seven top 4 finishes in its past eight events, will play at the Michigan G.C. in Ann Arbor, Mich., hosted by the Wolverines, May 17-19. Five teams in each regional - three with 13 teams and three with 14 teams -- and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championship final, hosted by USC between May 29-June 3 at The Riviera C.C. in Pacific Palisades.

    Eight Pac-12 schools were selected to play in the NCAA Tournament.

    Joining top seed USC in its region are No. 2 seed Oregon, No. 3 Kent State, No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 Baylor, No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 7 Kennesaw State, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Purdue, No. 10 North Carolina State, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 12 Ohio State and No. 13 Navy. The 10 individuals competing at the course include: Peter Williamson (Dartmouth), Matt Thompson (Michigan), Sebastian MacLean (Xavier), Erik Van Rooyen (Minnesota), Dan Ellis (Michigan State), Tyler Merkel (Ball State), Charlie Bull (Akron), Chad Ebert (Green Bay), William Park (Army), Greg Matthias (Delaware).
