PAC-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The USC men's golf team will join the rest of the Pacific-10 Conference at the Broadmoor Country Club (Par 70 - 6,186 yards) in Seattle, Wash., for the 1999 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championships on April 26-28 (Monday-Wednesday). Eight Pac-10 schools are currently ranked in the April 21 MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. Arizona State is ranked No. 7 nationally, followed by No. 12 Washington, No. 21 Oregon, No. 24 California, No. 26 UCLA, No. 27 Stanford, No. 35 Oregon State and No. 38 USC. Washington is the host for the 72-hole tournament. Last year, Arizona State won its ninth Pac-10 title in Orinda, Calif., led by individual titlist Paul Casey (283). The title was the Sun Devils' fourth in as many years as they bettered runner-up UCLA by 11 strokes.

SCHEDULE & FORMAT
A practice round will take place on Sunday, April 25 before the tournament begins Monday morning. The opening two rounds of the tournament are Monday, the third round is scheduled for Tuesday and the final round will be played Wednesday. Starting time all three days is 8 a.m. Per the blind draw, the team pairings and order of play for the first round will be as follows: Group 1: Oregon, UCLA; Group 2: Stanford, Washington State; Group 3: Washington, Oregon State; Group 4: California, Arizona; Group 5: Arizona State, USC. Each team is comprised of six competitors. The five individuals from each team with the low scores for any 18-hole round constitute the scoring members of the team for the given round. The team championship will be awarded to the squad with the lowest total combined score for all rounds.

USC SO FAR THIS SEASON
The Trojans opened the spring season with a second-place showing at the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate (864 - three strokes behind Washington). USC shot a season-low total of 284 in the final round of the tournament, which was held at The Raven Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The Trojans went on to finish in the top 10 in three of their next five tournaments (Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate, Morris Williams Intercollegiate and the Compaq U.S. Collegiate Championships). Senior Jorge Corral leads the team with a stroke average of 73.6 after playing in five tournaments. Junior Nick Webb and senior Charlie Woerner are close behind with stroke averages of 74.6 and 74.7, respectively. In the fall, the Trojans finished seventh at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate (Sept. 18-19), fifth at the Tennessee Invitational (Oct. 5-6) and 13th at the Taylor Made Red River Classic (Oct. 12-13).
