Troy Falls To Duke, Beats Washington To Open Stanford Classic|

No. 7 USC split its first two matches at the 2012 Stanford Classic at the famed Cypress Point on Monday (Oct. 29), falling to Duke, 9.5-2.5, in the opening round before downing Washington, 10-3.5, in the consolation bracket.
In the best ball match against the Blue Devils, freshman Yi Keun Chang and junior Ramsey Sahyoun split their match 2-2 to highlight Troy's efforts while junior Jeffrey Kang and sophomore Anthony Paolucci earned a half point and seniors Stewart Hagestad and Sam Smith went scoreless.
Against the Huskies in alternate shot matches, Hagestad and Smith as well as Kang and Paolucci swept their matches to score four points each while Chang and Sahyoun went 2-2.
USC wraps play Tuesday against Georgia in singles matches beginning at 8:30 a.m.
