Hoey Ties For Fourth At U.S. Collegiate Championship|

Freshman Rico Hoey posted a collegiate best tie for fourth while junior Anthony Paolucci tied for 23rd to lead USC on the final day of the U.S. Collegiate Championship on Sunday (Oct. 20) at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.
The Trojans finished at 5-over 869 (290-289-290), remaining in ninth for the third day in a row in a tough 15-team field. No. 5 Oklahoma State claimed the top spot while host No. 2 Georgia Tech finished second.
Hoey tied for fourth at 4-under 212 (70-71-71). He opened his final round with an eagle on the par 5 1st hole, bogeyed 3 and 5 and finished the front 9 with birdies on 6, 7 and 9. He cooled off with a 2-over back 9 but still finished under par for the third day in a row.
Paolucci tied for 23rd at even 216 (73-72-71). He was 2-under on the front 9 and 1-over on the back. Senior Jeffrey Kang tied for 36th at 4-over 220 (72-72-76). He was 1-over through 12 in the final round before three late bogeys.
First-year Trojans Paul Smith (75-75-74), a junior transfer, and freshman Danny Ochoa (76-74-74) tied for 50th at 8-over 224. Smith was 2-under through 11 before some late struggles while Ochoa was 4-under going out but came home at 6-over.
