    Crocker Leads Trojans In Nike Golf Collegiate First Day

    Freshman Sean Crocker fired a second-round 68 en route to an under par effort to lead the USC men's golf team's 36 holes on the first day of the inaugural Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at the Colonial C.C. in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday (Oct. 6).

    USC, which has finished in the top 2 in its first two fall events, combined for a two-round 22-over 582 (293-289) and finished 14 strokes back of first-place Oregon (568), in seventh. Washington is second (570) and Texas is third (571).

    Crocker is tied for seventh at 1-over 141 (73-68), notching his team-best fourth round in the 60s this year. His second round included four birdies, two on a 2-under back 9.

    Sophomore Rico Hoey is tied for 10th at 3-over 143 (72-71). He had four birdies to offset six bogeys in his first round while sinking two in the second round, including one on a 1-under back 9.

    Senior Eric Sugimoto is tied for 28th at 8-over 148 (74-74) while junior Bobby Gojuangco (74-77) and freshman Jonah Texeira (75-76) are tied for 43rd at 11-over 151.

    Final round action concludes Tuesday.
