Rock Face, GA - Senior Chris Botsford shot a one-under-par 215 to lead the No. 8 USC men's golf team to sixth place at the Carpet Capital Collegiate held at The Farm golf course on Sept. 27-29.

USC shot 868 overall, 18 strokes behind team champion Clemson (850). Augusta State (852) was second, followed by UNLV (856), Florida (857) and North Carolina State (863).

Botsford tied for 20th individually thanks to a final-round 69. He finished 10 strokes behind Bill Haas of Wake Forest and Troy Matteson of Georgia Tech (205). Oliver Wilson of Augusta State was second (207), while Jason Hartwick of Texas was fourth (209).

Also for USC, junior Scott Oxandaboure tied for 23rd (216), sophomore Ben Hayes tied for 33rd (219), sophomore Nico Bollini tied for 36th (220) and senior David Oh tied for 72nd (228).

The Trojans are next in action at the Ping-Golfweek Preview Invitational in Karsten, Okla., on Oct. 7-8.
