Ley Shoots 71 To Pace Trojans At Golfweek/Ping Preview|

Senior Taylor Wood fired off a 1-under 71 while senior Tyler Ley was two back at 73 to pace the USC men's golf team on the final day of the Golfweek/Ping Preview at Crosswater Golf Club in Sunriver, Ore., on Wednseday (Sept. 28).
USC finished 14th with a combined score of 894 (+30). Georgia won the tournament going away. The course will be the site of the 2006 NCAA Championships in June of 2006.
Wood was under par despite a double bogey on Hole 2. He made up for it with four birdies and only one other bogey. Ley was similarly consistent, as was senior Bradley Shaw, who shot a 74 (+2).
Junior Joshua Wooding had an eventful day, going 5-over on his first nine holes, but coming back with four birdies (and a double bogey) on the last nine to shoot a 75 (+3). Freshman Tom Glissmeyer finished with an 82.
Ley finished tied for 20th overall at 218 (+2) while Wood was tied for 32nd at 222 (+6). Shaw was tied for 46th (225) and Wooding was tied for 62nd (229).
