March 27, 2001

Austin, Tex. - The No. 9 USC men's golf team shot a 290 second round to tie for seventh as the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Tex., drew to a close on Tuesday (Mar. 27).

The tournament was shortened to only two rounds, as inclement weather took its toll on the final day.

Senior Alex Kuyumjian led the Trojans with an even par 144 (including a team-low round of 71) to finish tied for 14th. Junior Kevin Stadler (147) tied for 25th, while freshman Hunter Mahan (148) tied for 30th. Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech won the team title with a nine-under-par 135.

Georgia Tech also won the team title, finishing with a three-under-par 573, one stroke ahead of Oklahoma State. USC was 12 over par (588).

The Trojans next play in the ASU "Thunderbird Invitational" on April 13-14 at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
