Sophomore Nico Bollini and Ben Hayes each shot even-par 72 as the USC men's golf team tallied a team total of 293 on Wednesday, good for a 14th-place tie after one round of the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate held at the Kings Beach Golf Club.
The Trojans are 17 strokes behind tourney leader TCU (276). Oklahoma is second (281), followed by Lamar and UCLA in third (283) and Texas Tech in fifth (284).
Baylor's Ryan Baca's 66 puts him in the individual lead, followed by Adam Robinson and Adam Meyer of TCU and Mark Hull of Texas Tech in second (67) and Nick Watney of Fresno State in fifth (68).
For USC, Bollini and Hayes are tied for 29th (72), while senior David Oh is tied 62nd (74), freshman Tyler Ley is tied for 75th (75) and senior Chris Botsford is tied for 92nd (77).
The tournament resumes with the second round on Thursday, with the final round coming on Friday.
