    Kalil, Woods, McDonald Are All-American First Teamers

    Three USC football players--junior offensive tackle Matt Kalil, sophomore wide receiver Robert Woods and junior safety T.J. McDonald--have been named to various 2011 All-American first teams.

    Also, five Trojan freshmen--wide receiver Marqise Lee, linebackers Dion Bailey and Hayes Pullard, offensive guard Marcus Martin and placekicker Andre Heidari--were selected to various 2011 Freshman All-American first teams.

    Kalil made the AP, Walter Camp, SI.com, Pro Football Weekly and YahooSports.com/Rivals.com All-American first teams. He joins his brother, Ryan, as the third set of brothers in USC history to earn All-American first team honors (along with Marlin and Mike McKeever and Clay and Bruce Matthews). Woods, who was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, was on the Sporting News, ESPN.com, SI.com and YahooSports.com/Rivals.com All-American first teams. McDonald made the Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly All-American first teams, joining his father, Tim, to become the first father-son All-American first teamers at USC.

    Lee was picked to the Sporting News, CBSSports.com, CollegeFootballNews.com, FoxSportsNext.com, YahooSports.com and Phil Steele Freshman All-American first teams. Bailey was the Defensive Freshman of the Year on the CollegeFootballNews.com Freshman All-American first team and also made the Sporting News, CBSSports.com, YahooSports.com, FoxSportsNext.com and Phil Steele Freshman All-American first teams. Pullard was on the CollegeFootballNews.com Freshman All-American first team. Martin made the Sporting News, CBSSports.com, CollegeFootballNews.com and FoxSportsNext.com Freshman All-American first team. Heidari was a member of the CBSSports.com, CollegeFootball News.com and Phil Steele Freshman All-American first teams.

    Lee, Bailey and Heidari also made SI.com All-American honorable mention.

    Two other Trojan upperclassmen collected national honors in 2011: junior quarterback Matt Barkley, who finished sixth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy and made the AP All-American third team and SI.com and Pro Football Weekly All-American honorable mention, and junior defensive end Nick Perry, who made the CBSSports.com All-American second team.

    Tight end Randall Telfer made the CollegeFootballNews.com and Phil Steele Freshman All-American second teams, while three Trojan freshmen made CollegeFootballNews.com Freshman All-American honorable mention: tight end Xavier Grimble, linebacker Lamar Dawson and defensive tackle George Uko.
