    Khaled Holmes Named To 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic First Team

    USC senior center Khaled Holmes was named to the 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic first team, while senior quarterback Matt Barkley made the second team.

    Senior punter Kyle Negrete and redshirt freshman defensive end-fullback Charles Burks were honorable mention picks.

    Holmes, a 3-year starting offensive lineman, has a 3.31 grade point average while working on a master's degree in communication management. He received his bachelor's degree in communication in the spring of 2011. He made the 2011 Pac-12 All-Academic second team after being 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.

    Barkley, who has started for 4 seasons, is a communication major with a 3.21 GPA. He was named a 2012 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete. He made the 2011 Pac-12 All-Academic second team after being 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention. Negrete, USC's punter the past 2 years, is a business administration major with a 3.29 GPA. He made 2011 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

    Burks, who has played on special teams and as a backup, has a 3.49 GPA.
