USC junior defensive end Leonard Williams has been named among nine semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, given to the nation's top defensive impact player.

The trophy is presented by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation and is named after former USC All-American and NFL All-Pro Ronnie Lott, a member of the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame. The IMPACT name represents Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Four finalists will be invited to a Dec. 14 dinner at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif., where the winner will be announced.

Williams, a 2013 All-American first teamer and Bednarik Award semifinalist last year, is also a semifinalist for the 2014 Lombardi and Bednarik Awards. He has 54 tackles in 2014, including 7 for losses with 4.5 sacks. He also has 3 forced fumbles (he ranks 21st nationally in the category at 0.3), 3 pass deflections and an interception.
