USC sophomore wide receiver Marqise Lee has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, presented to the nation's top receiver.
Lee's 98 receptions and 1,447 receiving yards in 2012 are the most in the nation. He is second nationally in all-purpose yardage (2,234). He has 13 receiving touchdowns (third most in the nation), along with 677 kickoff return yards (with a TD) and 110 rushing yards. He is averaging 17.1 yards every time he touches the ball in 2012. The average length of his 14 TDs in 2012 is 42.7 yards. He has had 14 plays of 40-plus yards in 2012 (including 10 of 50-plus yards and 7 of 70-plus yards).
He set Pac-12 records this year for most receiving yards in a game (345 at Arizona) and most kickoff return yards (251 versus Oregon).
He is nearing USC season records for receptions (111) and receiving yards (1,520). He is eighth on USC's career pass catching list (171 receptions) and eighth on USC's career kickoff return list (962 yards). His 24 career TDs is fourth most at USC (tied for 16th on the Pac-12 career list). He has 11 career 100-yard receiving games (with a school-record tying twice with 200 yards), including 7 in 2012. He had a 3-game stretch in 2012 (Arizona, Oregon, Arizona State) with 663 receiving yards that is the most prolific in USC history.
He has a school-record 8 career games with double digit receptions (including a school-record 7 in 2012) and 6 career contests with multiple TDs. He has had at least 8 receptions in 13 games in his career, including 9 in a row at one point (last 4 of 2011, first 5 of 2012). He has had 19 receiving TDs in the past 14 games, with at least 1 in 11 of those contests.
Three Biletnikoff Award finalists will be announced on Nov. 19, with the winner named on Dec. 6.
