USC MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Kris Albarado, Football
Redshirt sophomore punter Kris Albarado was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Utah State over the weekend. Thanks in large part to Albarado's pinpoint punting, Utah State's average starting field position was its own 21-yard line and the Aggies were only able to advance far enough to penetrate USC territory on seven of 13 drives. Five of Albarado's seven punts pinned the Aggies within the 20-yard line, including two inside the five-yard line. He averaged 35.4 yards on his placement punts. Overall on the year, the Lake Charles, La., native is averaging 40.3 yards on 23 kicks, with more than half (12) pinning opponents within the 20. He has had a pair of punts travel over 50 yards, including a best of 64 yards.
