    Feb. 1, 2012

LOS ANGELES-Eleven high school football players and 1 junior college player signed to play with USC, Trojan head coach Lane Kiffin announced today (Feb. 1).

Additionally, 3 high school players, a junior college player and a college transfer already enrolled at USC in January and will participate in the upcoming spring practice.

This fall's incoming freshmen are: WR Nelson Agholor of Berkeley Prep HS in Tampa, Fla.; OL Zach Banner of Lakes HS in Lakewood, Wash.; TE Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick of Whitney HS in Rocklin, Calif.; RB Jahleel Pinner of Mission Viejo (Calif.) HS; WR Darreus Rogers of Carson (Calif.) HS; LB Jabari Ruffin of Downey (Calif.) HS; DB Kevon Seymour of Muir HS in Pasadena, Calif.; DB Devian Shelton of Inglewood (Calif.) HS; OL Jordan Simmons of Crespi HS in Encino, Calif.; OL Max Tuerk of Santa Margarita HS in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and DL Leonard Williams of Mainland HS in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The junior college transfer who will be joining USC is S Gerald Bowman of Los Angeles Pierce JC in Woodland Hills, Calif., who will be a junior.

The 3 prep players who joined USC last month as freshmen are LB Scott Starr of Norco (Calif.) HS, OT Chad Wheeler of Santa Monica (Calif.) HS and DE DeVante Wilson of Corona (Calif.) HS. Wilson originally signed with USC in February of 2011 and was set to enroll for the 2011 fall semester, but tore ligaments in his knee and sat out that semester.

The juco player who joined USC in January as a junior is DE Morgan Breslin of Diablo Valley JC in Pleasant Hills (Calif.), while the college transfer who joined USC last month as a sophomore is S Josh Shaw of Florida.

"I'm very excited to welcome this class to USC," said Kiffin. "Our coaching staff, headed by recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron, did a great job of signing such quality student-athletes under the circumstances with which we are faced. We are working with a limited number of scholarships due to the sanctions, so it was extremely critical for us to concentrate on the quality of players that we signed rather than the quantity.

"One common attribute of these signees is their ability to compete. None of them were worried about depth charts or playing time. They were excited to be Trojans."
