    2015: Kolanz will serve as a reserve walk-on junior wide receiver in 2015.

    2014: Kolanz appeared briefly in 7 games (all but Stanford, Boston College, Arizona, California, UCLA and Nebraska) as a reserve walk-on sophomore wide receiver in 2014, but he did not catch a pass.

    2013:Kolanz saw action in 8 games (all but Hawaii, Washington State, Utah State, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA) as a reserve walk-on redshirt freshman wide receiver in 2013 after joining the team in the spring of 2013. He saw significant action after injuries depleted the wide receiving corps late in the Notre Dame, Arizona State and Arizona games when the outcome of those contests was still up in the air. Overall in 2013, he had 1 catch for 3 yards (3.0 avg), which came at California.

    HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2011 All-CIF Northern Division first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Bay League first teamas a senior wide receiver and defensive back at Palos Verdes High in Palos Verdes Estates (Calif.). He had 22 receptions for 743 yards (17.0 avg.) with 6 TDs on offense, made 33 tackles, 5 interceptions and 5 deflections on defense and returned 18 punts for 258 yards (14.3 avg.) in 2011.

    As a junior in 2010, he made All-Bay League first team while getting 28 receptions for 656 yards (23.4 avg.) with 10 TDs and making 26 tackles and 1 interception. Current Trojan Matt Lopes also prepped at Palos Verdes.

    PERSONAL: He is a broadcast journalism major at USC with a B+ average (3.50 GPA). He made Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention in 2013 and 2014. He received the 2014-15 Chick Hearn Scholarship from USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the Los Angeles Lakers. His late grandfather is Stan Chambers, a television reporter who spent 63 years at KTLA in Los Angeles before retiring in 2010. He served as an intern in the Sports Information Department in 2013-15.
