2009: Kaveinga will serve as a backup middle linebacker as a sophomore in 2009.
2008: Kaveinga was a reserve linebacker and played on special teams as a first-year freshman in 2008. Overall in 2008 while appearing in 8 games (all but California, Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA and Penn State), he made 3 tackles, including 1 for a loss of 4 yards (at Virginia).
HIGH SCHOOL: His 2007 honors included Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, ESPN 150, Prep Star Dream Team, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West first team, Orange County Register Fab 15, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, All-CIF Western Division first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Bay League Defensive MVP as a senior linebacker at Leuzinger High in Lawndale (Calif.). He had 147 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks in 2007. As a junior in 2006, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass second team, All-CIF Western Division first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Bay League Co-Defensive MVP while getting 111 tackles, 9 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries and 4 forced fumbles.
