    2012: He is a reserve walk-on offensive guard and center as a redshirt freshman in 2012.

    2011: He was a reserve walk-on first-year freshman offensive guard and center in 2011, but did not see any action. He suffered a shoulder injury prior to the Arizona game and had surgery, sidelining him for the season.

    High School: He earned 2010 All-Bay League first team honors as a senior offensive and defensive tackle at Palos Verdes High in Palos Verdes Estates (Calif.).

    Personal: He has a B- average at USC (2.83 GPA). His father, John, started at center for USC in 1986 and 1987, while his cousin, Norm Katnik, lettered 4 years (2000-03) as a center at USC (he started the last 3 years) and another cousin, Kurt Katnik, lettered in 2003 at USC as a tight end and cousin Brad Walker lettered 4 years (2004-07) as a wide receiver at USC (including on USC's 2004 national championship team); his uncle, Norm Katnik, was a 2-year starting center at Arizona (1978-79).
