2002:
Daye was a backup defensive tackle (he can also play end) and a special teams player as a senior in 2002. He saw action in 12 games in 2002 (all but Oregon State). Overall in 2002, he made 2 tackles.
2001:
As a junior in 2001, Daye saw brief action in 1 game (Arizona State) as a reserve defensive end. He did not make a tackle. He broke his right foot in practice prior to the Arizona game and was sidelined through the UCLA game.
2000:
Daye did not see any action as a backup defensive end in his 2000 sophomore season.
1999:
Daye, who was moved to defensive end (from linebacker) in 1999 fall camp, appeared in just the Hawaii opener as a reserve redshirt freshman in 1999. He did not make a tackle in 1999.
1998:
Daye redshirted as a freshman linebacker in 1998, his first year at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL:
He earned 1997 Prep Star All-American, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-Western Region, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Medium Schools first team, All-CIF Division VIII first team, Orange County Register All-Orange County second team and MVP of the All-Pacific Coast League honors as a senior at Laguna Hills (Calif.) High. In 1997, he made 143 tackles, 7 sacks and 3 interceptions as a linebacker (he also played fullback on offense). Laguna Hills went 14-0 in 1997 and won the CIF Division VIII title.
As a junior in 1996, he was an All-League first teamer while recording 135 tackles, 20 tackles for losses, 12 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.
PERSONAL:
He was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. He's a political science major at USC. His hobbies include working on his 1971 El Camino car. His sports hero is ex-Trojan and current NFL star Junior Seau "because of his unreal intensity."
