USC Returns Home To Face Cal State Fullerton At Galen Tuesday|

The USC Trojans (2-3) will host the Cal State Fullerton Titans (1-2) at the Galen Center on Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. The game will air on the Pac-12 Network and be carried on USC flagship station ESPNLA 710.
TITANS ON THE HORIZON -- Cal State Fullerton is 1-2 with losses at Santa Clara (89-72) and New Mexico (67-59) and a home win against San Jose State on Nov. 22 (70-66). CSUF is led in scoring by senior forward Moses Morgan (16.3 ppg) and senior guard Alex Harris (15.0 ppg). USC is 4-0 all-time vs. the Titans, last winning 76-62 on Nov. 19, 2013.
TROJANS RALLY, THEN FALL TO PENN STATE -- USC rallied from a 13-point first half defict for the second game in a row, but this time couldn't get the win, falling 63-61 to Penn State in the fifth-place game at the Charleston Classic on Nov. 23. USC trailed by one point at halftime and actually took a six-point lead at 49-43 with 9:42 remaining, but then Penn State's high-scoring guard D.J. Newbill got rolling, scoring 14 of PSU's final 20 points. Strahinja Gavrilovic had career highs in points (13) and rebounds (10) to register his first career double-double. USC outrebounded PSU 51-37, but shot only 27.3 percent for the game.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN -- There are a total of 14 players on the 2014-15 USC basketball roster and 11 of them are freshmen or sophomores, with just three juniors and no seniors. The Trojan team by class are: Seniors (0): None; Juniors (3): Chass Bryan (G), Strahinja Gavrilovic (F) and Brendyn Taylor (G); Sophomores (7): Darion Clark (F), Samer Dhillon (F), Kahlil Dukes (G), Julian Jacobs (G), Nikola Jovanovic (F), Devon Pflueger (G) and Katin Reinhardt (G); Freshmen (4): Malik Marquetti (G), Malik Martin (F), Jordan McLaughlin (G) and Elijah Stewart (G).
MARTIN HAD AN MRI TAKEN MONDAY -- USC freshman forward Malik Martin suffered a hyperextension of his right knee early in the win vs. Drexel on Nov. 21 and had an MRI taken on Monday when the team returned to Los Angeles. Results should be available on Tuesday.
TROJANS HOARD THE BOARDS -- USC outrebounded Penn State 51-37 on Nov. 23, the Trojans most rebounds in a game since registering 53 vs. California on March 12, 2009.
SUDDEN IMPACT -- Freshman Jordan McLaughlin leads USC with a scoring average of 13.0 points in the first five games. He also leads USC in free throws attempted (27), assists (27), steals (12) and it tied for second in blocks (3). USC's freshman class of McLaughlin, Malik Martin, Elijah Stewart and Malik Marquetti has scored 36.3 percent of the Trojans' points this season (115 of 317).
GAVRILOVIC PROVIDING FIREPOWER OFF THE BENCH -- USC junior forward Strahinja Gavrilovic has averaged 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game. In the past two games, he has combined to score 23 points and grab 13 rebounds. He registered his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds vs. Penn St. on Nov. 23, both career highs.
TRIP TO NEW MEXICO NEXT -- USC's next game will be at New Mexico (3-2) on Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. PT. The Lobos are coming off a 64-51 loss to Texas A&M in the fifth-place game of the Puerto Rico Tipp-Off on Nov. 23. New Mexico's leading scorer sophomore guard Cullen Neal (17.0 ppg) has missed the last two games with a sprained ankle. Senior guard Hugh Greenwood has averaged 13.2 points per game. USC trails in the all-time series 5-6 and has lost its last five games to New Mexico, the last meeting a 75-67 loss on December 5, 2012.
DEFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS -- USC held each of its three opponents at the Charleston Classic to a lower field goal percentage in the second half. Combined, USC's opponents shot 50.0 percent in the first half and 38.6 percent in the second half.
USC HAS BEEN BUSY... -- Starting with the game against Portland State on Nov. 15, the USC men's basketball team began a stretch of six games in 11 days (2-3). The longest stretch of days without a game between Nov. 15 and Nov. 25 is two days, with no games on Nov. 18 and 19.
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK -- All four members of USC's freshman class have at least three blocks. Elijah Stewart leads the team with four blocks, and Malik Martin, Jordan McLaughlin and Malik Marquetti all have three, tied for second on the team.
YOUTH WILL BE SERVED -- The Trojans started freshmen guard Jordan McLaughlin and forward Malik Martin in the opener, the first freshmen in the USC opening night lineup since Byron Wesley started the 2011-12 season opener. They also became the first pair of USC freshmen to start since Bryce Jones and Maurice Jones got the nod in the opener of the 2010-11 season. USC's freshmen scored 21 of the Trojans first 25 points and 50 percent of the team's points in the opener (34 of 68).
