    Highly-Ranked Forward Boatwright Signs NLI To Play Basketball At USC

    LOS ANGELES - Forward Bennie Boatwright from Village Christian High in Sun Valley, Calif. has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play basketball at USC, it was announced by head coach Andy Enfield today (Nov. 12).

    "Bennie is an elite shooter at 6-10 and we expect him to have a huge impact on our success next year and throughout his career," said Enfield. "He has worked extremely hard to put himself in position to be a top-ranked recruit nationally and we are thrilled to add another talented southern Californian to our program."

    Boatwright is a 6-10, 220-pound forward who is ranked as the No. 52 prospect in the 2015 class by, No. 56 by and No. 83 by

    He is an excellent shooter out to three-point range who led his Village Christian team to a 27-5 record as a junior and averaged 18.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and nearly a block per game. He scored 30 or more points four times, including a season-high 33 points vs. Grant High. Boatwright made 85 three-point baskets last season and posted three double-doubles.

    Boatwright had offers from schools all over the country, including Kansas, UConn, Arizona, UCLA, Gonzaga, Ohio State and Washington.
