Aug 23, 2013
USC has added senior center D.J. Haley to its 2013-14 men's basketball roster, announced head coach Andy Enfield today (Aug. 23). Haley graduated from VCU this summer with a degree in mechanical engineering and will have one year of eligibility available.
"D.J is an exceptional student-athlete as he graduated in three years from VCU," said Enfield. "We are excited to bring him back home to California to be part of the USC basketball program. We expect D.J. to be a valuable contributor on both sides of the ball for us this season."
The 7-foot, 250-pound center appeared in 29 games and made four starts for VCU during the 2012-13 season. He averaged 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per games and was second on the team with 18 blocked shots. As a sophomore, Haley started 33 of VCU's 36 games and averaged 3.2 points and 3.9 rebounds. In his career at VCU, Haley played in 102 games and made 48 starts, including the 2011 NCAA First-Four game vs. USC which the Rams won 59-46. The athletic center has career game highs of 10 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Haley graduated from Palmdale High where he averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as a senior.
