    USC Grants Jackson Permission To Transfer

    USC has granted sophomore Garrett Jackson permission to contact other institutions about the possibility of transferring, it was announced today (March 14) by head men's basketball coach Kevin O'Neill.

    Jackson averaged 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games, ranking fifth in scoring and fourth in rebounding while playing the fourth-highest minutes on the 2011-12 team. Jackson started USC's final 14 games and averaged 10.8 points and 4.1 rebounds while playing 31.9 minutes per game.

    "Garrett did a great job here for two years," said O'Neill. "He is a great guy, did a good job in the classroom and we wish him the best in everything."

    Jackson will remain in school at USC through the semester.

    USC does not lose any scholarship players to graduation this season and adds transfer forwards Ari Stewart and Eric Wise who will be eligible next season after practicing with the team this season. Also, USC's announced recruiting class includes junior college standout guard J.T. Terrell and Serbian forward Strahinja Gavrilovic.
