Lao And Jackson Named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week

Danielle Lao of the women's tennis team and Garrett Jackson of the men's basketball team were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week yesterday (Jan. 31) for the week of January 23-30. Women's Tennis: No. 42 Junior Danielle Lao helped the Trojans to a winning weekend at the ITA Kick-Off in Tempe, Ariz. last weekend. Paired with Alison Ramos they took down Meliuk/Baca of Sacramento State 8-0 and then defeated Rebecca Delgado 6-0, 6-0 in singles action. Again paired with Ramos, the duo then took down Brycki/J. Smith of ASU 8-2. She capped her weekend with 6-4, 6-2, 2-1 (ret.) win over Michelle Brycki. Men's Basketball: Sophomore Garrett Jackson scored a career-high 16 points and Southern California led all the way in beating Utah 62-45 Saturday night. The win was the Trojans' first Pac-12 win and snapped their nine-game losing streak.
