    BREAKDOWN: Eric Wise is a 6-6, 240-pound wing who transferred to USC from UC Irvine before last season and practiced with the team. Wise played three seasons at UC Irvine and will have one year of eligibility. He is a versatile scorer and tough rebounder and refined his game last season while practicing with the team. Wise ranks 11th on UC Irvine's all-time list in points (1,280) and 15th in rebounds (533) and is the 15th player in school history to register 1,000 or more points and 500 or more career rebounds. Has an uncanny ability to get to the free throw line, having at least attempted one free throw in all but two games in his career and making at least one shot from the charity stripe in 77 of 83 career games.

    2011-12: Wise practiced with the Trojans while redshirting.

    2010-11: Wise averaged 16.3 points and 8.1 rebounds in 20 games (18 starts) for UC Irvine last season. He was second on the team in scoring and first in rebounds per game. His 8.1 rebound average was the highest by a UC Irvine player since the 1992-93 season. He was named honorable mention on the 2010-11 All-Big West Team. Wise had eight 20-point games in 2011 and has 26 20-point games in his career. Wise also posted nine double-doubles in 2011 and has 15 in his career. Scored a career-high 34 points in a 108-107 double-overtime loss at UC Davis on Jan. 29, making 14 of 22 shots from the field and grabbing 12 rebounds.

    2009-10: Wise averaged 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assist, becoming the first Anteater in 37 years and only the second in school history to lead the team in points, rebounds and assist. He was named to the All-Big West Second Team. He scored in double figures in 28 of 32 games and had a high game of 31 points on Dec. 28 at San Jose State. Also had a career-high seven assist on Dec. 2 vs. Hawaii. He registered 13 rebounds in a game twice, first at CS Fullerton on Jan. 30 and then vs. CS Northridge on Feb. 27.

    2008-09: Led the Anteaters in scoring with 14.0 points per game, the highest by a UC Irvine freshman in 14 years. Wise was named to the Big West's All-Freshman team and was also named to the All-Big West Second Team. He ranked seventh in the conference in scoring, eighth in field goal percentage (.445) and ninth in rebounding (6.0). He posted six 20-point games, including a season-high 25 points in a win vs. CS Fullerton on Jan. 3. He scored in double figures 22 times and had two double-doubles, with 16 points and 10 rebounds in Feb. 21 win at Hawai'i, and 19 points and 10 boards in Jan. 31 loss to Long Beach State. Had six assists at UC Davis Feb. 12 and recorded 53 assists during the season. He played in all 31 games and started the last 30.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Wise played prep basketball at Riverside's King High where he averaged 20.4 points and 9.3 rebounds as a senior in 2008 and was named Riverside County Player of the Year by the Riverside Press Enterprise and was named the CIF Southern Section Division IA Player of the Year. King HS finished 32-3 and won the CIF championship that season.

    PERSONAL: Wise was born on March 24, 1990 in Riverside, Calif. Wise has strong family ties to rebounding prowess as his father Francois Wise is CS Long Beach's career rebound leader, grabbing 896 from 1976-80. His uncle Willie Wise played in the American Basketball Association and in the NBA in the 1970s, posting a career average of 19.1 points and 8.1 rebounds. Also, his cousin is Jaha Wilson who played for USC in the mid-`90s and is 10th on the Trojans' all-time rebound list. Wise is a Sociology major at USC.
