    BREAKDOWN: Brendyn Taylor, 6-foot-2, 185-pound sophomore guard begins his second season as part of the men's basketball program. Saw limited action as a freshman, but demonstrated the ability to play exceptional defense.

    2012-13: Taylor played in 14 games totaling 100 minutes as a freshman. He scored 10 points on 4-for-11 shooting, including going 2-for-7 from three-point range. Played a season-high 15 minutes and had three rebounds vs. Minnesota on Dec. 8. Again played 15 minutes and made his first career basket as a Trojan, a three-pointer, vs. UC Riverside on Dec. 15. Played 10 minutes and hit a key jumper with 7:17 to go in win vs. Stanford on Jan. 3. Scored two points and grabbed two rebounds in four minutes of action at Arizona on Jan. 16.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Taylor averaged 18.0 points, 3.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game at Fairfax. He missed most of his junior and part of his senior seasons after transferring to Fairfax from View Park Prep due to CIF transfer rules, yet still was ranked the No. 17 player in California by Cali High Sports. Taylor helped lead Fairfax to a 20-10 record and a fifth-place ranking in the Southern Section.

    PERSONAL: Brendyn was born on April 22, 1994 in Los Angeles. His father, Brian, played basketball at Princeton before moving on to play 10 years in the NBA and ABA and his brother, Bryce, played at Oregon and helped lead the Ducks over the Trojans in the 2007 Pac-10 Championship by going 11-for-11 from the field, including 7-for-7 from three-point range to finish with 32 points.
