    Erik Perea, who has worked on NCAA basketball staffs that have advanced to postseason play four times in the past eight seasons (including three NCAA Tournaments), is in his fifth year as video coordinator at USC and seventh in the Trojan program.

    Perea's main duties at USC include team travel, coordinating film exchange, film breakdown and assistance in scouting preparation. He will also assist in academics, camps, recruiting and supervising staff personnel and managers.

    Perea, 28, is in his 10th season working in college basketball. He volunteered for the USC program for two years (2001-02), working with squads that both went to the NCAA Tournament. His responsibilities included practice preparation, video editing and filming and assisting in the day-to-day operation of the program.

    Perea also served as an assistant in USC's Sports Information office in 2000 and 2001. His responsibilities included writing and editing material for athletic publications as well as assisting in game-day preparation for men's basketball and football games.

    A 2000 graduate from Pepperdine with a degree in Business Administration, Perea worked three years for the Waves men's basketball team as a manager and was head manager his senior year. His duties included practice preparation, filming and video and equipment inventory. While at Pepperdine, the Waves advanced to the National Invitational Tournament in 1999 and to the second round in the 2000 NCAA Tournament.

    Perea has also assisted in the Tim Floyd Hi-Potential Basketball Camp in 2005 and 2006. He also worked summer basketball camps for former Trojan coach Henry Bibby (2001-04) as well as camps at Pepperdine (1999).

    Perea is a 1996 graduate of El Rancho High in Pico Rivera, Calif. A basketball letterwinner in high school, he was El Rancho's Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior.
