THIS SEASON: Chris Penrose, a 6-foot, 172-pound senior in 2007, adds leadership to the Trojan squad and depth at the guard position.
2005-06: Appeared in three games for the Trojans and scored two points in seven minutes played. Saw action vs. Eastern Washington on Nov. 25 at the Great Alaska Shootout and at home vs. UC Riverside on Nov. 30 and vs. North Carolina A&T on Dec. 23. Was 1-for-3 with a steal and a career-high two rebounds in the win vs. UC Riverside.
2004-05: Appeared in 11 games for the Trojans and scored eight points in 15 minutes played. Led all Trojan walk-ons in games and points scored. Was perfect from the line, making both free throws he attempted and was 2 of 9 from the floor, all three-point shots. Scored his first points as a Trojan when he hit both free throw attempts on Jan. 8 vs. Washington State. Received the Ernie Holbrook Memorial Award given to the team's most inspirational player. Named team captain, the only non-senior to be selected as a captain. Received the Trojan Spirit award after being nominated by the coaching staff.
2003-04: Was a freshman walk-on, but did not appear in any games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Francis Parker High in San Diego, Calif, where he was a four-year starter. He twice earned Coastall League honorable mention and averaged 16 points and four assists his senior season. Penrose also played three years on the varsity football team at Francis Parker High.
PERSONAL: Penrose was born on March 26, 1985. He is majoring in business marketing at USC. Interned at the prestigious real estate development firm CB Richard Ellis. Would like to start his own real estate developing corporation. He likes the television show "Entourage" and his favorite movie is "Van Wilder." His biggest sports hero is Jerry Rice and his favorite recording artist is Keith Urban. Says the best part of being at USC is being part of the Trojan Family.
